Misurata seaport was known since old ages as a natural harbours, which used by Phoenicians as at the cost at the western coast in Libya, since the beginning of the tenth century B.C its natural characteristics and played an effective in commercial exchange movement since ancient ages, whereas it was established in 1978 according to a studied plan on which the most modern styles of ports establishing were taken into consideration in order to offer the best marine services to contribute in increasing commercial exchange movement and it was classified as one of the best ports in Great Jamahiriya and became a target for many international shipping lines.
